My friend asked me when I was looking at keyboards for gaming if I was looking for one that would be good for my wrists and hands and not make me strain, one called ergonomic. I thought that I had heard that before but I did not know what it really meant. I have a husband who is a left handed person and he is always telling me that he has to strain with his left hand and arm to reach certain things on the keyboard and it should not be that hard. I told him that I could look for one for him if he wanted one, because he is also left handed and he also complains of the same things that my husband does. My husband does now like his current keyboard so I told both of them that I would find a few options for the best money and let them decide what they want.
About twenty years ago I was working for a very large health insurance company and I was really happy to see that I was going to be working in customer service. It was my first real job right out of college and I was so proud that I was going to be a customer service representative. I decided that I was going to go and have the OT of the company show me the proper way to sit at my desk. They actually had someone whose job it was to show people how to sit in their office with the right desk chair height and what it should feel like to be sitting ergonomically correct in your seat while you are working on your keyboard and using your mouse. They didn’t want you to strain and you could be out of work with any of those issues.
